Convenient Access from Westbranch
Most people in this part of northwest Houston spend their weekdays on the move, and dental care has to fit between the Beltway and the office. Hamblin Family Dentistry, on the Katy Freeway in west Houston, is about 12 minutes from Westbranch Park by car, which makes us a practical dentist near Westbranch for working adults. Phones are answered from 6 AM Monday through Thursday, so you can schedule a cleaning before your own workday gets going.
From Westbranch Park, follow the neighborhood streets out to Durban Drive and turn right, then turn right again onto Clay Road heading west. Turn left onto West Sam Houston Parkway North and enter the Sam Houston Tollway southbound for about 2 miles, passing Houston Christian High School at Kempwood Drive. The main lanes need a toll tag; drivers who prefer to skip the toll can stay on the free Beltway frontage road instead. Follow the ramps to I-10 West, exit at Kirkwood Rd (exit 754) and follow the frontage road to 11510 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77043, about 6.4 miles from the park.
Morning drivers should know that rush hour adds time on both the Beltway and the Katy Freeway, so leave a little cushion before an appointment. Once you reach I-10, the office is only a short hop from the Beltway interchange. Our Google Maps listing handles turn-by-turn directions from your own driveway. Patients from Spring Branch North, just south of Clay Road, and from Jersey Village, farther up the Beltway, reach us by similar routes.
A Small Neighborhood on a Busy Corridor
Westbranch is City of Houston Super Neighborhood #8, in Council District A. The City describes it as sitting north of Clay Road at the West Belt, and Wikipedia's list of Houston neighborhoods places it along Beltway 8 south of Jersey Village. It covers only about 1.4 square miles. Houston annexed the area in 1994, so many longtime residents remember when it sat outside the city limits.
The neighborhood has two distinct parts. Westway is made up of townhomes, while Westbranch proper holds single-family houses, most of them medium-priced homes built in the 1970s. Home building picked up again in the 1990s. Along the western edge by the Beltway, older land is being redeveloped with commercial and office projects.
About 3,700 people live here in roughly 1,200 homes, and vacancy is very low. The neighborhood is one of the more diverse corners of Harris County: roughly half of residents are Hispanic, and about one in five is Asian. Families send children to both Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and Spring Branch ISD schools, depending on the street.
Neighbors surround it on every side. Carverdale lies close by, Spring Branch West is a short drive away, and Spring Branch North begins on the other side of Clay Road. Gessner, Tanner and Brittmoore roads all run nearby, but the Beltway and Clay Road are the main ways in and out for most residents.
The best-known campus nearby is Houston Christian High School, just south of Clay Road at 2700 W Sam Houston Pkwy N. The private, Southern Baptist school serves grades 9 through 12. It opened in 1970 as Northwest Academy and adopted its current name in 1998, and its students and staff are part of the daily traffic on the West Belt.
Green space is tucked between the houses. The neighborhood park sits off Durban Drive, Independence Park is nearby, and Carolyn Wolff Park lies close to Clay Road and the West Belt. Brickhouse Gully, a named stream, winds through the area on its way east.
Fitting Dental Visits Into a Westbranch Workweek
City figures show that about three in four Westbranch residents are between 18 and 64, a higher share than Houston overall. That means a neighborhood full of people with jobs, shifts and commutes. For them, the hardest part of dental care is usually finding the time, not finding the office.
Calling early helps. Our team answers the phone from 6 AM Monday through Thursday, which lets you lock in a visit before you leave the house. Because the office sits just off I-10 near Kirkwood Road, you can head back toward the Beltway or the Energy Corridor without doubling back across town.
Desk jobs, warehouse shifts and long drives all take a toll on teeth in quiet ways. Coffee on the commute, snacks at a workstation and skipped flossing on late nights add up over a year. Regular cleanings remove the buildup that brushing misses and give our dentists a chance to spot early wear. Small fixes found at a checkup cost far less time than a larger repair later.
Problems rarely wait for a day off. A chipped tooth or a sudden ache can derail a workweek, so we keep same-day appointments available for urgent issues. Our emergency exam and x-ray offer gets you a diagnosis quickly, and digital x-rays show what is happening below the gumline.
Repairs can be fast as well. Same-day crowns let many patients leave with a finished crown instead of a temporary, saving a second round trip down the tollway. For a Beltway commuter, one appointment instead of two can mean one less morning away from work.
Working adults are not the only patients we see from the area, of course. One office that can see everyone, from a teenager needing a checkup to a parent with an old crown, keeps scheduling simple. Our three dentists treat children, adults and seniors, and they keep records for the whole family in one place. That means fewer forms and fewer phone calls for the person who organizes everyone's care.
New patients start with a comprehensive first visit. It includes digital x-rays, a thorough exam and a cleaning, along with a free cosmetic consultation and a free Invisalign consultation. If you have been meaning to ask about straightening or brightening your smile, that first appointment covers the conversation at no extra charge. The new-patient cleaning, exam and x-ray visit is $49.
Weekends are closed at our office, so working adults tend to plan around weekdays. Booking your next cleaning before you leave the chair is the simplest way to stay on a six-month rhythm without thinking about it.

How far is Hamblin Family Dentistry from Westbranch, and how do I get there?
Plan on about 12 minutes for the 6.4-mile drive from Westbranch Park. The route runs west on Clay Road, south on the Sam Houston Tollway, then west on I-10 to exit 754 at Kirkwood Rd and the frontage road. Commuters looking for a dentist near Westbranch can usually fit the trip into a morning without losing much of the day.
Do I have to pay a toll to drive from Westbranch to the office?
No, a toll is optional. The fastest route uses the Sam Houston Tollway main lanes for about 2 miles, which requires a toll tag. You can stay on the free Beltway frontage road instead, which is a little slower but costs nothing. Either way you join I-10 West and exit at Kirkwood Road.
Is it safe to see the dentist during pregnancy?
Yes, routine cleanings and exams are safe and recommended during pregnancy. Hormone changes can make gums swell and bleed more easily, so a cleaning is especially helpful. Let the team know you are pregnant when you book, and the dentist will plan x-rays and any treatment timing around your stage of pregnancy.
Which payment methods can Westbranch patients use?
The office accepts major credit cards, cash and checks, along with Cherry and Sunbit financing. The team works with many insurance providers and files the claims for you. Before any treatment begins, you receive a cost breakdown, so you know what to expect when the bill arrives.
Can a Westbranch shift worker book an emergency visit the same day?
Yes, same-day appointments are available for urgent problems like a broken tooth or sudden pain. Calling as early in the day as possible gives our front desk the most options to work with. Our emergency exam and x-ray offer covers the first look, so you know what you are dealing with.
